Friends of the Demopolis Library

The Friends of the Demopolis Public Library have been instrumental in the progress of the Library.  In 1996, the Friends provided seed monies for the Gwyndolyn Collins Turner Reading Room.  This room houses our genealogy resources and serves as a quiet, comfortable space for researchers to work.  in 1998, the Friends of the Library actively assisted with the Gates Foundation Grant and helped to host Bill and Melinda Gates on their visit to Demopolis.  Since then, our Friends have purchased needed software for our computers, sponsored the Summer Reading Program, and have presented numerous speakers and programs for our library patrons.  In 2006, the Friends purchased the upholstered shapes for our new children's area. Most recently, they provided the funds for our new website.

Our Friends membership year begins in October during National Friends of the Library Week  If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Library, please complete the form and return it to the library.
